Benjamin Garrison, Cartoonist for the People

Up Shit Creek

Recently while researching for my recent article American Scamocracy, I came across the outstanding work of political cartoonist Benjamin Garrison. I really liked his work “The March of Tyranny” and contacted him for permission to use use it in the article. His response was as follows, shared with his permission:

Excellent piece! A good balance of profanity and facts. The GE news came out last week. They made billions and paid no taxes–again! Their tax return was submitted electronically, but if it had been printed on 8.5 x 11 paper it would stack to 19 feet high. They have a legion of lawyers, crony connections and loopholes to escape taxes… while people like us get clobbered. You called it an “American Scamocracy” and I think that sums it up well. It’s all a giant Ponzi scheme that benefits an elite few while the vast majority get stuck with an ever-increasing mountain of debt.

I remember reading a book many years ago–it came out in the late 1970s–and it was titled “The Screwing of the Average Man.” Now that screwing is even more egregious and the corruption at the top is completely out in the open. As they get away with stealing trillions, they are encouraged to do even more. It won’t end until the average man stops participating. One way he can do this is by taking most of his money out banks and putting it into physical gold and silver.

Meanwhile, I expect the situation to get even worse. More corruption, more war, more lies and propaganda, more police state tactics, more money concentrating at the top due to crony capitalism and more austerity for everyone else. Americans are waking up, though. Just a few years ago many had no idea what the Federal Reserve was and now they know–and they don’t like what they see.

Great blog and keep up the good work. I’ll be passing this on.

Thanks Ben. For our readers, enjoy a couple more of his excellent works.

Call me Charlie. I decided to join with others to write this blog because I feel that I have learned a lot about how to succeed in life in general. It took a lot of trial and error and I've developed a wealth of philosophies, skills, and tricks of the trade that would be very useful to like minded guys out there. There's no need to repeat my mistakes, of which I have made many, instead I urge you to read this blog, absorb and practice its lessons, and then go out and have the most awesome life, on your own terms. To me that means good health, success in your career, the number and type of relationships you want, and general satisfaction that you're not wasting your life spinning your wheels, but going forward always towards your goals.
